Zak's Various Rantings

Whoa. Clones. Holy cow (or nerf, I should say).
I just finished playing Battlefront II story mode. I was amazed.

This sort of traces back to this blog http://blogs.starwars.com/ThrawnBlog/51

BTF2: Rise of the Empire campaign had almost a more powerful plot than RotS, in my opinion. It told a firsthand account of the Clone Wars from the brave soldiers of the 501st. I just can't begin to say how sorry I felt for those poor souls in the clone army. Are they not people too? And they always say that clones have no emotions, but Rise of the Empire says different.

For example, the destruction of the Empire. The narrator of BTF2 was going on about how he'd "Worked with some of those men for over 20 years.." and how he would exact revenge on the Rebellion. That sounds a bit like emotion to me.

Also when Order 66 was given. "[Aayla Secura] said we were the bravest men she'd ever known. It's a good thing we were wearing helmets that day. Not one of us could look her in the eye." That seems to me that they didn't want to execute Order 66, that they were only doing it because they were forced to.

I guess my point is the same as EvilDarthBear's. The clones may have been born in a test tube, and may have half the lifespan of normal humans, but does that mean they are not human? I say, "most certainly not."

Thank you BTF2, for showing me this new, untold side of the Star Wars galaxy.
